I’ve been a bit absent this week, but that is just because I have been working on such a huge project. And there is no reason to keep it a secret any longer because I am fairly confident that it should be done soon. I am completely revamping my website! Yes, it has been a big project to take on, but I hope that it will be worth it. So, make sure to follow me on Twitter or Become a Fan on Facebook so that you can be one of the first to know.
But a little over a week ago, on an absolutely beautiful day, I went on a short walk with my camera. I took along my new Diana Lens. I am sad to say that I only used it for about ten images because, to be honest, I could not let go of my need for perfection. See, the Diana Lens doesn’t really allow you to focus the subject, and you never really know what you are getting. But that is the beauty of it. You get unexpected results which sometimes make the most beautiful images. Next walk that I take with my camera, I am only using my Diana Lens. I think it will be a great exercise for me to let go of the technical side of photography and simply create my art. It takes me straight back to my college days with my Holga.
Here is an example so that you can see what is different about the Diana Lens.
This image was taken with my Canon 24-70 2.8mm:
And this one was taken with the Diana Lens:
Isn’t the dreamy quality gorgeous? I am loving it! The next two images were also take with the Diana Lens. I hope you enjoy them! There will be many more to come taken with this little piece of plastic.
